Classroom

Programs

Classroom programmes provide weekly activities for teachers to do with children in the classroom. Works on their core muscles, shoulder girdle strength, coordination, finger muscles, pencil grip and pencil control - all underlying skills that are important in developing their skills for drawing, colouring in and handwriting.

Classroom

Groups

Designed and run by an occupational therapist to target gross motor and fine motor areas.

Gross motor groups target core muscle strength, shoulder girdle stability, midline crossing, motor planning and bilateral coordination. This provides a strong foundation which children need to sit during ring time, sit with the appropriate posture at the table, coordinate using their pencil and scissors, and allow for improved participation during sport.

Fine motor groups focus on the finger muscles and coordination of the fingers which are needed for colouring in, drawing, letter formation and handwriting.
