Fun Activities

These are fun activities that you can do at home to strengthen your child’s underlying skills, those which form the foundations for both functional and academic skills.

You can think of the sensory integration approach like a pyramid. The top of the pyramid is where the functional difficulties your child may be showing are e.g. fidgeting at the table, untidy handwriting, poor fine motor skills, difficulties building puzzles and art projects. The foundation of the pyramid is the sensory processing, then the gross motor skills build on top of that, then the fine motor skills and then the visual perceptual skills.

These activities help to work on the foundation skills. Here are some of our favourite activities. Many of these activities can be found in the EverythingOT home program kits
